Awesome Video: Girls rap on literature; Goodreads, J.K Rowling, Leo Tolstoy and more!

Ok so this is just a quick post as I came across something the other day and automatically knew that I wanted to share it with you guys. It’s a video called B*tches in Bookshops, a parody or literary interpretation of Jay Z and Kanye West’s song N*ggas in Paris. It had me cracking up in that appreciative way that only bookworms will understand. Plus, it gets a couple of bonus points for featuring several places in New York I got to see when I was on my trip! 😉Here’s the original video it’s based on if your interested. (I personally couldn’t get past a minute haha) Also, there’s a lot of swearing, if you’re sensitive to that sort of thing.
You’ll have to follow the link to YouTube because for some reason none of the video’s for this song want to play on WordPress.

So, if you got through the entire song congrats to you! You did better than me.

Here are the stars of the hour, La Shea Delaney and Annabelle Quezada rapping about books, bookshops, and all things literary. 🙂 I’ve listed the awesome lyrics below, in case you want to sing along 😉

Let me know your thoughts! 🙂

  1. This made me think of the Julian Smith video “I’m Reading a Book,” which is practically my theme song. I loved the bit about ditching a guy who hasn’t yet made it past the intro of something. And I found myself wanting to go and visit all those bookstores too…

    • I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as I did. 🙂
The “War and Peace, piece of cake, read Tolstoy in 3 days” gets me every time. It’s like whoa, no way! Have you seen that book? It’s MASSIVE! 😛
