Quoting the Quill #54

Quoting the Quill

“Knowledge is dangerous. Once you know something, you can’t get rid of it. You have to carry it. Always.”

– Samantha Shannon (The Bone Season)

This was one of my favourite quotes from my most recent 5 star read, The Bone Season. It’s a little ominous, and not as uplifting as the quotes I usually post, but I really love it. I think one of the reasons for this is because so often people don’t understand why I love reading books and I think this sums it up quite well. Books give us knowledge, therefore books are powerful.
But with great power comes great responsibility as they say! 😉

Quoting the Quill is an every other week meme created by me at Blogs-Of-A-Bookaholic. It runs every other Wednesday. Want to find out more or join in the fun? Check out the details here.

  1. Unfortunately, that quote doesn’t just apply to typical knowledge, but to things in your everyday life too. They’re not kidding when they say ignorance is bliss!

  2. So true. Whether good or bad, it’s difficult to forget! Knowledge is important but use it wisely. Either that or walk around with your fingers in your ears and never read anything ever again.
