My Dream Library Collection

As bookworms, we often picture what our dream library will look like. Perhaps it will be hidden by a secret door tucked away from the world. Maybe it will have oak beams, spiral staircases, plush chairs, a crackling fire; and you can bet it will have bookshelves reaching to the ceiling with a rickety ladder you can slide up and down all day. But do you know what I hadn’t ever considered? What books would actually be in that collection. The ones I already own, obviously. But if I had the money to create a truly awe inspiring library, surely I would also have the means to acquire some expensive, truly remarkable antique books as well! So when the auction website Invaluable.com contacted me about doing a post on my dream literary collection I thought it was a brilliant idea! Here’s what I came up with.

DAY 8: Most Underrated Book.

Yay, I love this question! There are so many great underrated books out there that aren’t as well known simply because they didn’t get the major advertising behind them. Your book can be the best thing since the invention of the printing press, but unless people know it exists, it’s not going to do well. There are a few specific books that spring to mind for this post that I haven’t assigned for other days of the 30 Day Book Challenge, so once more unto the breach dear friends…!

Any tips for a first time aeroplane flyer?

In just over a week, I will be embarking on what is probably the biggest adventure in my life to date. Visiting New York City! As soon as the opportunity arose at my school in the form of a Media Studies trip, I knew I had to go. I couldn’t let a once in a lifetime opportunity like this pass me by. New York City is a place I have always wanted to visit. Everything about it appeals to me; the fast paced atmosphere, the amazing architecture, the Broadway…… this trip is like a dream come true! I’m extremely excited, but also extremely nervous. Why? Because I am not a seasoned traveler, far from it in fact. I have never been on an aeroplane, I haven’t even set foot in an airport! Typical me picking a seven hour flight for my first time! But am I going to let my fear stop me from pursuing my dream? No! 🙂
