POSSIBLY THE COOLEST BOOK ART EVER!!!!!! :D

I am so overexcited about this discovery courtesy of storytelling nomad!!! I want these DESPERATELY. 😀 I’m sure everyone with a love of literature will have a similar reaction too.
The idea is that each poster based on a book is made up of the entire text of that book, and more than that, it’s actually readable! So you can have the full text of your favourite book laid out for you to read with a single glance. No words are left out but curved around to fit the picture.
There are loads of choices, this blog post shows just a few examples and they are in the process of creating more. Most of them are classics, but you can also request books you want them to do posters for, and if they can get the rights for the texts, they will make it for you! You can check out the awesome website Spineless Classics here. Why not take a look for yourself? 😀 They are expensive, but just look at them! Soooo worth it!

I’m personally lusting over the Wuthering Heights one!! How about you? Which book do you wish you could have on your wall? 🙂

    • I’m glad you enjoyed it. 🙂 That sounds like a great idea for a post, there is nothing better than getting something book related for Christmas.
      No problem!

      Happy reading. 🙂

  1. It’s times like these that I hate being a broke college student. But I have better things to spend my money on, I suppose- like the Dresden Files or the rest of the October Daye series or the rest of Cherie Priest’s Clockwork Century or… you get the idea. But those posters are glorious. I particularly like the Much Ado About Nothing One

    • Haha yepp me too! (In a weird way, it’s so cool that I can now count myself in that catergory). I really need to get a job. :S
I’m exactly the same, I have so many series that I’ve started but never finished. Why do so many books have to be part of a series these days?!
Enjoy your books. 😀 I love the Much Ado About Nothing one too even though I have no clue what the books about….

      • Jobs are kind of a double-edged sword- I love mine for letting me have money, but it also takes up a ridiculous amount of my time.

Much Ado About Nothing is a play- and it’s amazing. One of my favorite Shakespeares XD And I hear you on the series thing- so many of the later books rely on plots introduced in earlier ones. Not to mention in the series I’ve listed pretty much all the books are/look awesome, and I want them all.

      • Yeah that’s very true, I’m not sure how I would juggle it at the moment, I’m still trying to get used to everything. But I will have to get one at some point, I’ll need the money. That is if I can even get one, desperate times and all. :S

Ohhh it’s Shakespeare! That’s probably why it sounded familiar. 🙂

Haha agreed! And then you just keep starting new series instead of finishing the ones you’ve already started. 😛

    • Haha yeah the Harry Potter one is pretty awesome. 🙂 That was actually the first thing I looked up because I’m a big lotr and Hobbit fan, but it says on their request page that they haven’t been able to get the rights to it currently. 😦 Damn shame!! I would really love a hobbit one!

  2. That’s pretty awesome! The Harry Potter one looks really cool 🙂 So is it the text from the whole book or just a part of it? I’m guessing the posters would be pretty big if it were the whole thing AND readable! xx

  3. Hi Becky,
Thank you so much for posting about us! And for everyone’s comments too! We only launched a year ago and have had a crazy year, the highlight being just launching our first Harry Potter which only took 9 months of negotiation with Warner Brothers! We have many, many more in the design process now and will be releasing ‘The Hobbit’ (we managed to talk the Tolkein Estate into it ahead of the movie release!) and ‘Complete Works of Beatrix Potter’ shortly! We must have the legal copy/publishing rights to design like this so often it does take time before we can launch new titles, if at all.
So thank you again for the support and should any of you blog about us also I would love to read it so feel free to email me at customer@spinelessclassics.com.au.
    Many thanks, Phoebe (Owner)

    • Hi Phoebe!

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to check out my blog post! I am absolutely in love with the work on the site and I’m going to save up to buy at least one of these pieces of artwork. 😀 I’m sure you will have tonnes of book lovers knocking on your doors in no time. (In fact, this post has already got over 100 hits)
You managed to get The Hobbit? That’s fantastic! It’s one of my all time favourite books, I will have to keep an eye out for that one. I will keep popping back to your website each month to see what new additions you have. 🙂
No problem, I’m just glad your ok with me blogging about it! And I wish you the best of luck with your business in the future.

P.S. Cynthia above has also done a blog post about the artwork.

  4. OMG! How cool would this be as a gift? FOR ME!!!! Ha ha ha ha! I like the Peter Pan one the best, I like the words to be shaped into a picture. Seriously though, this is waaaay cool… 🙂

  5. I think I saw this on pinterest the other day but wasn’t really sure what it was. But :O! I want them! :L I want the Pride and Prejudice one, mostly just because I like the book so much

    • Ahhh good old pinterest, it is useful. Yaaaay glad you like them too! I think the Pride and Prejudice one is really pretty. 🙂 That’s the main reason I want the Wuthering Heights one, because I like the book. 😛

      Thanks for commenting!
